SAMSUNG IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) lets operators offer customers converged IP based services, including telecommunications, Internet access, and broadcasting. Current R&D focuses on an integrated IMS platform which will let users enjoy customized services anytime, anywhere, on any device. IMS is a technology that converges and implements voice and data in one platform unlike the existing network system, and an open architecture that uses IPs. Through IMS, various multimedia services can be provided through a network or device anywhere, anytime.?That is, in the past, wired, wireless, and cable systems were established separately, but, now, those systems can be converged into one through the IMS platform, and, through that single platform, communications service providers can decrease management costs and enhance their operation efficiency. In addition, as a standard architecture, IMS reduces vendor-dependence to a great extent compared with the existing networks so that speeds up application development and application. Then, a variety of multimedia services such as voice·data·video can be offered and high customer satisfaction can increase. Because IMS enables connection and interworking between terminals as well as different networks, communications service providers can be given the opportunity to create new revenue sources. Due to the various benefits for wired/wireless communications service providers, the number of companies that want to introduce IMS is on the rise. SAMSUNG’s end-to-end IMS solution is designed to provide opportunities to wired/wireless communications service providers in the world to create new revenue sources, enable them to grab those opportunities and take the initiative to offer network, service, industry, and market integrations.
